We’re thrilled to share a sneak peek of our upcoming installation at SFMOMA as part of Ruth Asawa: Retrospective.
Opening soon on the museum’s 4th floor outdoor terrace, this temporary planter will pay homage to Ruth Asawa’s iconic forms and her love of gardening. Inspired by the organic shapes found in her work—and after close collaboration with both the SFMOMA team and the Asawa estate—we’ve crafted a sculptural piece that’s part art, part garden. Built from precisely cut Extira panels and assembled like a life-sized puzzle, the planter’s flowing curves cradle a plant palette that nods to Asawa’s own garden.
Stay tuned for more details as we bring this special project to life!
