Artist Statement

Designed in collaboration with BDE Architecture, this multi-story living wall rises from the second to the fifth floor of a residential courtyard façade. Visible to residents from within and to pedestrians below, the installation introduces vertical greenery into the urban fabric, inviting viewers to look up and engage with the architecture. A dynamic, omnidirectional planting design features agapanthus, vibrant heucheras, oxalis, and other richly scaled species, with sweeping gestures of Lomandra adding movement in the breeze. Installed over a specialized waterproofed façade system and maintained by swing stage, the wall demonstrates how large-scale vertical landscapes can successfully integrate with contemporary residential construction.
