

In a redwood park in the middle of downtown SF—right next to the Transamerica Pyramid—Lily Kwong's “EarthSeed Dome” was a living, site-responsive structure. The dome was constructed from 3D-printed, seed-infused soil blocks, fabricated using robotic arm technology. By installing live plants and moss, we helped initiate the next phase—transforming the structure into a living system that shifted and grew over time. As spring and summer unfolded, embedded seeds bloomed and dispersed, extending the sculpture’s impact beyond the park. The sculpture was on view from April through July, 2026.
