Artist Statement

At street level, this living wall installation transforms an urban passage into a canyon-like experience. Flanked by lush green walls and accompanied by the sound of cascading water, the entry evokes the feeling of walking through a fern-lined ravine. Though each wall experiences slightly different lighting conditions, the planting design remains cohesive, relying on ferns and adaptable species that thrive across both environments. Subtle highlights of Carex ‘Evergold’ add movement and draw visitors inward, softening the architecture and creating an immersive arrival sequence. The biophilic experience continues indoors, with a large preserved moss installation.
