Artist Statement

At San Francisco’s bustling One Market food court, a large living wall provides a refreshing counterbalance to the energy of the space. Serving as both backdrop and gathering point, the installation introduces a sense of calm within the lively environment, softening the architecture with greenery.

Highlights of color punctuate the lush foliage, giving the wall depth and visual rhythm while maintaining an inviting, cohesive feel. A recirculating irrigation system keeps the installation efficient and sustainable, ensuring it remains vibrant throughout the year.

Beyond its visual impact, the wall delivers a biophilic benefit: offering visitors a restorative moment with nature. Whether taking a break from work or pausing between meals, guests leave feeling refreshed and ready to return to their day.

Commissioned by Paramount Group, the project reflects a continued investment in designing spaces where nature and daily life meet seamlessly.
