For Activist, a purpose-driven creative agency based in Hollywood, the goal was to energize a traditionally static environment—the boardroom—by introducing movement, color, and a sense of organic spontaneity. Rather than a linear or directional planting scheme, the living wall was composed in omni-directional, amorphous swaths, allowing the foliage to feel natural and free-flowing.

A vibrant mix of purple Tradescantia, orange ‘Molten Lava,’ bright Philodendron hederaceum ‘Lemon Lime,’ classic green Philodendron hederaceum, and cascading Nematanthus (Goldfish Plant) creates layered depth and tonal contrast. Lush backdrop plantings in deeper, recessed greens ground the composition, while sculptural butterflies add a playful note—appearing almost as if drawn to the blooms themselves.

The planting palette subtly echoes the adjacent mural by a Portland-based artist, creating a cohesive dialogue between art and landscape. The system is fully recirculating, ensuring sustainable performance while transforming the boardroom into a dynamic, biophilic focal point.
