Artist Statement

Tucked above the SoMa streetscape, this rooftop living wall transforms an urban infill space into a lush, multi-sensory retreat. Designed in dialogue with a water feature and living roof, the south-facing wall was planted with sun-tolerant ferns, grasses, and sculptural evergreens to thrive in full exposure while maintaining a soft, immersive feel. Subtle shifts in texture, movement, and color create a biophilic oasis—one that engages sight, sound, and scent, and offers a moment of calm high above the city.
